This Guru ring was redesigned for a client whose original setting was beginning to break. Rather than replace a piece carrying personal and spiritual meaning, KAMAL preserved his 5-carat yellow sapphire and original 18K yellow gold, transforming both into a stronger, more contemporary design.
Known as Pukhraj or Guru Ratna, yellow sapphire is associated with Jupiter, or Guru, in Vedic astrology. It is traditionally worn on the index finger in a setting that allows the gemstone to maintain direct contact with the skin. The new ring was thoughtfully constructed to preserve this important requirement while giving the sapphire an entirely new expression.
Reoriented horizontally within a clean architectural setting, the original stone feels modern and distinctive without losing its history, symbolism, or intended purpose.
